Comments on above pictures--
  • Marshall Tucker, 2Lt, as seen with me prior to deployment to Iraq. I swore him into active duty about 18 months ago.
  • Bob n Linda are great friends dating back to the early 80's when we were assigned to Vicinza, Italy together. Bob now operates a very successful Handy-Man service in Chatlotte, NC.
  • Skyline Chili, the 5-way-- one of my all time favorites. I had this one on US-23 just north of Columbus, Ohio.
  • We spotted this great tribute to US Paratroopers in Michigan. I think it was at the first (or 2nd) rest stop on US-23 north of Toledo
  • While at Signe's place we made a side trip to Shirley's and on to the White Chapel to see the folks grave site. While there we saw Glen Farnham's grave.
  • Later we stopped at Grant St to see my childhood home which Sid Blomberg Jr owns now. This rock is a favorite cause I have fond memories of sitting on it from age 5 to 10.
  • Here's Jim & Signe sending us on our way--
  • Here in Linden is the Bar-B-Q/fireplace built by Pam's dad about 45-50 years ago. I'm amazed at the skill he showed at selecting, splitting and placement of the field stone. He was a multi-talanted man and I miss him a lot (Lowry D Penrod)--
  • The old Linden home looks about the same but is now an apartment house.
  • Down town Linden, Michigan is the location of this old historical mill. The grist mill dates back to 1845 but was purchased by the Village in 1956 for use as a Library.
  • This was the former Free Methodist Church and parsonage in Linden and is now a senior facility. Pam n I got married  here in  1955.
  • At Stan's place we enjoyed a birthday feast for Sandra then looked around the farm-- Also a view from Larry' airplane--
  • In Flint we got to see Rices new home and rendezvous with the Hunkins at a doughnut shop. We also ate at a neat greasy spoon!
  • Notice Rices cover over the back deck.
  • At Ole's we went to see the Country Music Hall of Fame where we saw one of Elvis' Cadillacs.
